I was deeply saddened today to learn that Malcolm Young, rhythm guitarist for the band AC/DC is ill.  He was one of the founding members of the band in 1973.  AC/DC published the following statement after news of Malcolm’s illness went viral on various social media channels:

“After forty years of life dedicated to AC/DC, guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young is taking a break from the band due to ill health. Malcolm would like to thank the group’s diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support.

In light of this news, AC/DC asks that Malcolm and his family’s privacy be respected during this time. The band will continue to make music. ”

AC/DC is one of my favorite bands.  They have sold more than 71 million albums in the United States and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.  I’ve always said, “As long as AC/DC keeps playing concerts, I will keep going.”

Malcolm, I’m wishing the best for you and hope the day will come that you can be back on the road with AC/DC once again.  We salute you!
