First, I would like to say, that the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 105mm f/1.4E ED is the best portrait lens, that Nikon has made. I had the opportunity to test it together with the Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.4G.
The lens, compared to the Nikon 85mm f/1.4G is very big and almost twice as heavy and it weighs one kilogram. The difference between the two lenses can be seen in the optical construction. Nikon AF-S 105mm f1.4E ED has 14 lenses in 9 groups, the Nikon AF-S 85mm f1.4 has 10 lenses in 9 groups. On the pictures …read more
