Our annual Easter pilgrimage to Carmel Valley wouldn’t be complete without a day trip to Big Sur. On Saturday, we headed down the coast for some food and fun. We had read about the Big Sur Roadhouse and wanted to check it out. It’s a small, modern, casual restaurant serving California cuisine with a New Orleans flare.
When we go to Big Sur, we usually eat at Ventana or Nepenthe. This was a nice change of pace. All of our food was good and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely go back in the future. After lunch, we took a short drive back up the coast to Andrew Molera State Park. We took the 1.25 mile hike down to the beach to work off all the carbs from lunch.
